American elections are one of the best/worst times for seeing the grimmer side of political adoration. They might not be on a par with the Nuremberg Rallies, but they’re usually miles ahead on awkwardness.

#Election2012 has been a gaffe-prone delight – and Mitt’s been making advance on Bush, Palin and co. with the help of Chuck Norris, Clint Eastwood and - of course - his own shocking lack of skill, tact or backbone. He’s managed to piss off 47% of his would-be (now won’t-be) voting base. Shit odds, basically.
But finally Obama’s cool 10-point lead in the polls has been gratified. And in equally hip style.
Barack Obama’s Jazz is one jazz head’s contribution, turning Blue Note Records sleeves into #Obama2012 campaign posters and getting big love from across the web – and Obama’s own campaign team – on the way.
Print them off. Get the t-shirts. They’re genius.
John Coltrane’s Blue Train becomes Hope Train. Donald Byrd’s A New Perspective is now the President’s. And Dexter Gordon’s Our Man in Paris is Our Man in DC.
Policy aside, what has Mitt got that comes near this? If he was a genre of music, he’d be an elevator musak version of Whitney Houston. As beautifully stated in this film:
